A UNIQUE MODEL
What makes Community Shares different from traditional workplace fundraising programs?
Community Shares is different than traditional workplace fundraising programs because it is completely member run, and our vision is guided by a shared and abiding commitment to diversity, inclusiveness, non-discrimination and transparency.
All policy decisions are made by our Board of Directors which is currently comprised of 26 member agency representatives, and 3 interested community members volunteering their time. And our Board carries out all activities of the organization with the support of a part-time staff person.
The purpose of the Board of Directors is to advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with leadership, promotion and implementation of the work of Community Shares of Southern Arizona, and support the organization’s mission and needs.
Therefore, our members have a direct presence in all aspects of Community Shares’ policies, operations, and program implementation.
